第四、釋圓教者，「圓」以不偏為義，此教明不思議因緣中道實相之理。事理具足，不偏不別，但化最上利根大士，故名圓教也。所言「圓教」者，義乃多塗，略說有八：一，教圓；二，理圓；三，智圓；四，斷圓；五，行圓；六，位圓；七，因圓；八，果圓。

Fourth, explaining the "perfect teaching": "perfect" takes "unbiased" as its meaning. This teaching clarifies the principle of the inconceivable causes and conditions of the middle way, the true mark. Matter and principle are complete and replete, neither biased nor distinct, and it transforms only the great beings of the highest and sharpest faculties; hence it is called the perfect teaching. That which is called the "perfect teaching" has multiple aspects in its meaning, but eight are briefly stated: 1. perfect teaching; 2. perfect principle; 3. perfect wisdom; 4. perfect severance; 5. perfect practice; 6. perfect stages; 7. perfect cause; 8. perfect fruit.
