Second, clarifying that which is able to contemplate: if one contemplates this single thought-moment of the mind of ignorance as neither empty nor provisional, and all phenomena as likewise neither empty nor provisional, yet is able to know the mind as empty and provisional, then one illuminates all phenomena as empty and provisional. This is the threefold contemplation in a single mind fully illuminating the principle of the three truths, giving rise to all clarities and liberations without cutting off delusion and craving; just as when water is clarified, the form of the jewel appears of itself. This is identity in contemplative practice.
