"Vigor... [living beings are born in] his land": Some masters say that vigor has no distinct essence of its own, but is merely discussed with respect to all the practices. Others say that it possesses its own distinct essence. It also has five kinds: First, concrete vigor, which is of ordinary people. The other four kinds are the eight vigors in each of the sets of factors of the path, namely the four right efforts, the faculty of vigor, the power of vigor, the factor of awakening of vigor, and the factor of the path of vigor, which make eight. Later, when he accomplishes buddhahood, living beings who diligently cultivate all merits in the five ways come to be born in his land. The rest is analogous to the straight mind.
