"Expedient means... [living beings are born in] his land": The four teachings each have three kinds of expedient means: first, for one's own practice; second, for converting others; third, for both one's own practice and converting others. Furthermore, each has three kinds of expedient means: first, refuting dharmas; second, establishing dharmas; third, teaching and converting. Later, when he accomplishes buddhahood, four kinds of living beings who are unhindered in all expedient means come to be born in his land. The provisional and real, along with the various meanings, are all analogous to the straight mind.
