From “this body” to “does not abide”: these ten serve as similes for the practice of emptiness. Now there are two interpretations: first, explaining them generally and specifically; second, explaining them according to their common characteristics. Explaining them generally and specifically: the first five specifically serve as similes for the five aggregates, and the next five generally serve as similes for the five aggregates. How is this known? The authentic texts of the sūtras and treatises say: “Contemplate form like a mass of foam, contemplate feeling like a bubble, contemplate perception like a mirage, contemplate formations like a plantain tree, and contemplate consciousness like an illusion.” Since the five below have no text matching them specifically, one should know that they generally serve as similes for the emptiness of the body.
