"Pure Liberation" (Śuddhavimukti): the conditioned is not necessarily with outflows, as attaining the non-outflow [state] is also conditioned. The conditioned is encompassed by the three marks. The unconditioned refers to the three unconditioned dharmas: space unconditioned, cessation through deliberation, and cessation without deliberation. The unconditioned and the conditioned, dharmas with number and without number—therefore their names differ. However, among the three unconditioned, one is nirvāṇa and two are non-nirvāṇa. Cessation through deliberation cannot be space, and space cannot be cessation without deliberation. Although the three are distinct, they are still dharmas of number. Now, setting detachment from all numbers against those numbers makes two. Realizing that these two are like space, seeing neither number nor non-number, having no further two extremes, free from hindrance and obstruction—this is entering the Dharma door of nonduality.
