二、料簡因果。「與奪」等者，荊溪云：因之與果俱得無生寂滅種智，與則寂光通因，通於中下。奪則寂光別在極地，以上下位俱得無生寂忍種智。別則寂忍不通下因。

Second, evaluating cause and effect. Regarding "granting and denying" and so forth, Jingxi says: Cause and fruit alike attain the unproduced, quiescent extinction and the knowledge of all forms: granting, then Quiescent Light connects to cause, connecting to the middle and lower [stages]. Denying, then Quiescent Light pertains specifically to the ultimate ground, since higher and lower stages alike attain the unproduced quiescent patience and the knowledge of all forms. Specifically, then quiescent patience does not connect to the lower causes.
