Two, below "This half," explaining the meaning following the text, in two: first, two and a half chapters on reproach and subduing outside the room, in three: first, half a chapter explaining subduing the accumulation of conditioned conditions within the realm, in two: first, dividing the sections; second, explaining sequentially, in four: first, expedience of manifesting illness, in two: first, direct explanation; second, evaluation, in two: first, directly expressing the two accumulations. Regarding "How is it known to be so?": "so" is like "in this manner," a phrase pointing to what precedes, meaning: by what means is it known that Jingming's lying ill expresses these two kinds of accumulations of conditions? The meaning of the answer is: unconditioned great compassion covers the ten realms universally, and the designation of sentient beings excludes nothing; therefore, we know that manifesting illness was in order to lead the six ordinary and four noble [beings] to attain freedom from illness.
