四、方便。「如前說」者，荊溪云：如釋〈方便品〉名者是也。三者，一破、二立、三隨順眾生也。「生果地法身方便」者，荊溪云：通至圓果故也。因通自行，果全利他。

Fourth, expedient means. Regarding "as explained before," Jingxi says: this refers to the explanation of the title of the "Expedient Means" chapter. The three are: first, refuting; second, establishing; and third, according with sentient beings. Regarding "the expedient means of the dharmakāya on the ground of fruition," Jingxi says: because it extends to the Perfect fruition. In the cause it extends to one's own practice; in the fruition it is entirely for the benefit of others.
