Second, declining as not up to it, has two parts: first, dividing the sections; second, explaining in sequence, which has four parts: first, directly declining as not up to it; second, recounting the reason for not being up to it. Regarding "symbolizing a crooked path," the analytical contemplation of the Tripiṭaka teaching winds around to lead to the transformed city, hence it is called a crooked path. Regarding "half and full facing each other," Jingxi says: what is refuted is definitely half; what can reproach is full. Although whether there are three, two, or one within the gate is not fixed, all three are called full. Because of this, it can be called facing each other.
