二、約四等化他，二：初、標示。荊溪云：四等皆須從圓以釋，語似方便，釋使成圓。今謂一心三慈乃至一心三捨，四三互融方稱文旨。

Second, transforming others in terms of the four immeasurables, which has two [parts]: first, marking and indicating. Jingxi says: The four immeasurables must all be explained in terms of the perfect [teaching]; although the words seem expedient, the explanation makes them perfect. Now I say: the three kindnesses of one mind up to the three equanimities of one mind, where the four and the three mutually blend, only then accords with the text's purport.
