問：妙香淨剎，淨名何不持來？妙喜寶方，淨名攝持于掌。答：妙香須飯食，見而不持來。妙喜現通令見，亦持于掌。神通濟利不一權方，何必並遣持來、齊令俱見？

Question: Why did Vimalakīrti not bring the pure land of Sarvagandhasugandhā along, whereas he held the jeweled realm of Abhirati in his palm? Answer: For Sarvagandhasugandhā, it was food that was needed; so they saw it without him bringing it along. For Abhirati, he manifested spiritual powers to let them see it, and also held it in his palm. The ways spiritual powers benefit beings are not confined to a single expedient; why must both have been brought along together, or both equally made visible?
