二、從「是王子」下，述誓願。先作方便；次「作誓言」下，正起誓。六句不出四弘：初二依滅諦，發成佛願；三四依道諦，發悲智願；第五依苦諦，發度生願；第六依集諦，發斷惑願。此依界外滅諦為首，驗發圓心也。

Second, from "[At that time], the prince..." onward, it explains the vow. First, he undertakes the expedient means; next, from "He made a vow, saying..." onward, he directly makes the vow. The six lines do not go beyond the four great [universal] vows: the first two are based on the truth of cessation, producing the vow to attain Buddhahood; the third and fourth are based on the truth of the path, producing the vow of compassion and wisdom; the fifth is based on the truth of suffering, producing the vow to liberate sentient beings; the sixth is based on the truth of origin, producing the vow to sever delusion. Since this takes the truth of cessation beyond the realms as foremost, it proves the arousal of the mind of perfect [realization].
