5.143

經　「世尊！如大梵天於諸有情常為宣說世出世論，帝釋復說種種諸論，五通神仙亦說諸論。世尊！梵天、帝釋、五通仙人雖有百千俱胝那庾多無量諸論，然佛世尊慈悲哀愍為人天眾說《金光明》微妙經典，比前所說，勝彼百千俱胝那庾多倍不可為喻。何以故？由此能令諸贍部洲所有王等正法化世，能與眾生安樂之事，為護自身及諸眷屬令無苦惱，又無他方怨賊侵害，所有諸惡悉皆遠去，亦令國土災厄屏除，化以正法無有諍訟。是故人王各於國土當然法炬明照無邊，增益天眾并諸眷屬。」

Sūtra: "World-Honoured One! Just as the Great Brahmā constantly expounds mundane and supramundane treatises for sentient beings, Śakra also expounds various treatises, and ṛṣis endowed with the five superknowledges also expound treatises. World-Honoured One! Although Brahmā, Śakra, and the ṛṣis endowed with the five superknowledges possess immeasurable treatises numbering hundreds of thousands of koṭis of nayutas, when the Buddha, the World-Honoured One, out of kindness, compassion, and pity, expounds this subtle and wondrous sūtra of the Suvarṇaprabhāsa for the assemblies of humans and devas, compared to what was expounded previously, it surpasses them hundreds of thousands of koṭis of nayutas of times beyond all comparison. Why is this? Because this can cause all kings of Jambudvīpa to transform the world through the saddharma, can bring peace and happiness to sentient beings, protect themselves and their retinues so they are free from suffering and affliction, keep away harmful invasions by enemy bandits from other regions, dispel all evils, eliminate calamities and adversities from the realm, and transform through the saddharma without disputes. Therefore, kings of men in their respective realms should naturally light the torch of Dharma to illuminate boundlessly, augmenting the heavenly hosts and their retinues."
