Below, the fault of the king himself practicing illegality is divided into four: first, two lines explain that the king abandons the correct Dharma; next, two lines explain that the gods see it and their hearts grieve; next, two verses explain that all the gods confer together; next, six verses explain that disasters and calamities then arise. Within this there are again nine points: first, one verse on strife and so forth multiplying. Next, half a verse on all the gods abandoning him. Next, one and a half verses on adverse and pressing affairs arising: the destruction of the country, which is the suffering of not getting what one seeks. The king's person suffering misery is the suffering of encountering what one hates. Separation from parents and so forth is the suffering of separation from what is loved. Reaching even to the destruction of the body is the suffering of death. Next, half a verse on calamities and portents arising together. Next, half a verse on hostile bandits invading. Next, half a verse on high ministers dying untimely. Next, half a verse on livestock being dispersed and lost. Next, half a verse on people dying unlawfully.
