「大慧！若復說無種、有種、識三緣合生者，龜應生毛，沙應出油，汝宗則壞，違決定義。有種、無種說有如是過，所作事業悉空無義。」

"Mahāmati, if it is further said that arising occurs from the confluence of the three conditions of causelessness, cause-possessing, and consciousness, then a turtle should grow hair and sand should yield oil; your thesis would be ruined, contravening the definitive meaning. Causeless and cause-possessing assertions have such faults, and what they undertake is entirely empty and meaningless."
