爾時，大慧菩薩摩訶薩知大菩薩眾心之所念，名聖智事分別自性經，承一切佛威神之力而白佛言：「世尊！惟願為說聖智事分別自性經百八句分別所依。」

At that time, the bodhisattva-mahāsattva Mahāmati, knowing what was in the minds of the assembly of great bodhisattvas regarding the sūtra named *Discriminating the Svabhāva of Noble Knowledge Affairs*, sustained by the majestic spiritual power of all Buddhas, addressed the Buddha, saying: "World-Honoured One, we only pray that you will explain the basis upon which the discrimination of the one hundred and eight statements relies in the sūtra *Discriminating the Svabhāva of Noble Knowledge Affairs*."
