「云何觀察義禪？謂人無我自相、共相，外道自他俱無性已，觀法無我，彼地相義漸次增進，是名觀察義禪。」

"What is the dhyāna of investigating meaning? It means that having realized the svalakṣaṇa and sāmānyalakṣaṇa of the selflessness of persons, and that both the tīrthikas' self and others lack nature, one contemplates the selflessness of dharmas and gradually advances through the meaning of the characteristics of those stages. This is called the dhyāna of investigating meaning."
