'Realize the twenty-five truths' means to thoroughly realize the twenty-five principles as true. Further, 'a king protects the realm' means that if one can accept the treatise on the six virtues, causing the myriad people to be peaceful and happy, they take the nature of peace and happiness to be nirvāṇa. Regarding 'see time as the maker': the theorists who venerate time postulate seasons as the cause capable of generating all dharmas in the world; time changes, but the maker is not different; those who realize thus take it to be nirvāṇa. Regarding 'existence and nonexistence', and so forth: the Ru Lengqie says, 'Or they cling to an existing thing, or they cling to a nonexisting thing, or they cling to both an existing thing and a nonexisting thing, taking this to be nirvāṇa.' Here 'nature' (xing) means dharma, and dharma means thing. Regarding 'consciousness', and so forth: they say that all things are clamour and movement, while nirvāṇa is tranquility; they take the non-difference between these two to be nirvāṇa. The above diverse false postulations of tīrthikas giving rise to views of nirvāṇa are explained in detail according to treatises such as Āryadeva's.
