「若汝識性生於相中、不從見生，既不見明，亦不見暗，明暗不矚，即無色空；彼相尚無，識從何發？」

"If the nature of your consciousness arises from appearances and does not arise from seeing, then since you would see neither light nor dark—and with light and dark unseen, there would be neither form nor space—when those appearances do not even exist, from what could consciousness arise?"
