6.323

「誠如佛世尊，詢我諸方便，以救諸末劫，求出世間人。成就涅槃心，觀世音為最。自餘諸方便，皆是佛威神，即事捨塵勞，非是長修學，淺深同說法。」

"Truly, as the Buddha, the World-Honoured One,
Inquired of me concerning the expedient means
To save those in the final kalpa
Who seek to transcend the world,
In accomplishing the mind of nirvāṇa,
Avalokiteśvara is supreme.
All other expedient means
Are through the Buddha's awe-inspiring power;
By dealing with specific matters they cast off defilement,
Yet they are not for long-term study and cultivation;
Teaching the Dharma to the shallow and deep alike."
