問：欲與清淨，同異云何？答：欲應羯磨，清淨應說戒。若說欲之時，並須雙牒，由文正制；不同《僧祇》猶行廢教也。

Question: What is the difference or similarity between chanda and purity (pāriśuddhi)? Answer: Chanda corresponds to karman, while purity corresponds to upoṣadha recitation. When stating chanda, both must be mentioned together, because the text formally institutes this; unlike the Mahāsāṃghika Vinaya, which still follows abrogated teachings.
