若受欲已，欲至僧中，道逢諸難，便從界外來至僧所，與欲清淨得成。必界內有難，不往僧所，僧又不知，羯磨成不？文云：有比丘無想，作法不成。

If after receiving the chanda one intends to go to the saṃgha, but meets with various perils along the way, and so comes from outside the boundary to the saṃgha's place, conferring the chanda and purity is valid. If there is a peril within the boundary so that one does not go to the saṃgha's place, and the saṃgha also does not know, is the karman valid? The text states: 'If there is a bhikṣu without the perception [of it], the performance of the rite is invalid.'
