二對首心念，亦具七非，數同於上。隨事對法，各有別相。且舉安居一法，餘則例之。一者人非，謂界中有人，別眾而作，自不依他等。二者法非，口說錯脫，文非明了等。三者事非，時非夏限，處有難緣，不依佛制。四非已下，類前可知。

Second, face-to-face mental-intention also has seven defects, the number being the same as above. According to the matter and the corresponding rite, each has its distinct characteristics. Taking the single rite of varṣā as an example, the rest may be inferred by analogy. First, defect in person: namely, there are people in the boundary, but one performs it as a separate saṃgha, or does not rely on another oneself, and so forth. Second, defect in rite: spoken mistakes or omissions, text not distinct, and so forth. Third, defect in matter: the time is not within the summer limits, the place has obstacles, or it does not accord with the Buddha's regulations. The fourth defect and below can be understood by analogy with the preceding.
