三明轉變者。《中論》云：如蒲萄漿，持戒者應飲；若變作酒，不應飲；若變為苦酒，還復得飲。《十誦》：甘蔗是時藥，清汁是非時分，作石蜜是七日，燒作灰是盡形。肉是時藥，煎取脂是七日，燒作灰是盡形。胡麻同肉法。酪是時藥，清汁如水是非時，作穌是七日，燒為灰名盡形。

Third, explaining transformations: The Mūlamadhyamakakārikā states: As with grape juice, one who keeps the precepts may drink it; if it turns into wine, one must not drink it; if it turns into vinegar, one may once again drink it. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya states: Sugar cane is a medicine for the proper time, its clear juice is for the improper time, made into rock sugar it is for seven days, and burned to ash it is for a lifetime. Meat is a medicine for the proper time, boiled to extract fat it is for seven days, and burned to ash it is for a lifetime. Sesame follows the same rule as meat. Curd is a medicine for the proper time, its clear juice like water is for the improper time, made into butter it is for seven days, and burned to ash it is called for a lifetime.
