問：四藥之中，何故七日罪重，餘三輕者？答：一即用資強，垢心厚重；二體現常存，聖開說淨，反違佛教，過限不說，故重。餘藥反此，故輕。

Question: Among the four types of medicines, why are the offenses for the seven-day [medicine] grave, while the other three are light? Answer: First, because its use provides strong sustenance, the defiled mind is heavy; second, its substance is constantly preserved, and the sage granted permission to declare it pure, but in going against the Buddha's teaching, one exceeds the limit and fails to declare [it pure], hence it is grave. The other medicines are the reverse of this, hence they are light.
