三相識敬儀。《四分》：客僧受房已，問主人已，應先禮佛塔，次禮第一上座乃至第四上座。應偏露右肩，脫革屣，右膝著地，捉兩脚，如是言：大德我禮。若四上座房內思惟，應隨座次禮房；主人一一示知。《十誦》：若上座時見，應禮；難見遠者，則止。

Third, the etiquette of mutual acquaintance and paying respect. The Dharmaguptaka Vinaya: Once the visiting monk has received his room and questioned the host, he should first pay homage to the stūpa of the Buddha, and next pay homage to the first sthavira down to the fourth sthavira. He should bare his right shoulder, remove his leather sandals, place his right knee on the ground, grasp both feet [of the elder], and say: 'Venerable One, I pay homage.' If the four sthaviras are meditating inside their rooms, he should pay homage to their rooms in order of their seats; the host should point them out and inform him one by one. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya: If the sthaviras are seen at that time, he should pay homage; if they are hard to see or far away, he should desist.
