《薩婆多》：沙彌不為三寶緣有利益者而掘地，犯罪。《五分》：下三眾，無故造罪，亦吉羅。《四分律》結吉羅，謂無緣而損傷。乃至不受食、殘宿、自煮等，無人則開；有淨人故作，則結吉羅。例之。

The *Sarvāstivāda* states: If a śrāmaṇera digs the earth not for the sake of benefit related to the Three Jewels, he commits an offense. The *Pañcavargika* states: If the lower three assemblies commit an offense without cause, it is likewise a duṣkṛta. The *Dharmaguptaka Vinaya* establishes a duṣkṛta for damaging or destroying [living plants/earth] without cause. As for failing to formally receive food, keeping leftovers overnight, cooking for oneself, and so forth, they are allowed when there is no one else; if there is a kappiyakāraka and one acts deliberately, a duṣkṛta is incurred. Apply this analogy throughout.
