至寺即鳴稚集眾，不來者說欲。諸尼雲集，並立堂中，依位合掌。使尼至上座首，打靜已，白云：「白眾僧！僧差我某甲，往僧中請教授；而僧云：『無有教授人，及說法者。』」并傳上座勅已。諸尼合掌：「頂戴受持！」然後禮唱而退。出在《十》、《五》、《祇》等三律。

Upon reaching the monastery, she immediately strikes the wooden sounding-block to assemble the community; those who do not come declare their chanda. The nuns assemble like clouds, all standing in the hall and joining their palms according to their ranks. The messenger nun approaches the head of the elder, and after striking the silence-block, announces: "I announce to the saṃgha! The saṃgha delegated me, so-and-so, to go among the monks to request instruction; and the monks said, 'There is no instructor, nor anyone who explains the Dharma.'" And having conveyed the order of the elder, the nuns join their palms: "We receive and uphold this atop our heads!" Afterwards, they make prostrations, chant, and disperse. This appears in the three Vinayas: the *Daśādhyāya*, *Pañcavargika*, and *Mahāsāṃghika*.
