Under 'Instituted at the end of summer', the first section: the first line inquires. From 'If' onward explains, again in two parts; first is narrating the intention of not doing it earlier, where the above clarifies that the mind that came to assemble was sincere; kuǎn means sincere; yào means regulation. From 'If prematurely' onward manifests the fault of bringing it up earlier; 'prematurely' means bringing it up beforehand when it is not yet finished. From 'Therefore' onward is the second part, clarifying the intention for it needing to be later; the first line repeats the previous inquiry. From 'Because' onward explains; first it narrates that they are about to disperse; 'just approaching' means the place to which they are going. From 'Must' onward clarifies establishing the method. 'Not proclaiming alone' is because one is mostly deluded about oneself. 'Obstructing the path', etc., reveals the necessity of repenting. From 'Therefore' onward concludes the meaning.
