三中，初斥專執。謂逐人差也，以見本宗差法，單牒名故。未通諸部者，即上所引也。又下，次斥輕易。今時皆爾。況復庸愚，空無一行，妄充僧命，輒號五德。名存實喪，豈不悲乎！十下，引證。下座來向者，臘高德重，不可勞動故。

In the third, first, reprimanding rigid attachment. This refers to appointing persons one by one, because of seeing that in our own school's appointment ritual only a single name is pronounced. 'Not having mastered all the schools' refers to what was cited above. From 'furthermore' below, next, reprimanding negligence and flippancy. Nowadays everyone is like this. How much more so when the mediocre and foolish, utterly devoid of a single [good] deed, falsely fill the Saṃgha's mandate and rashly claim the title of 'five virtues.' The name remains while the reality is lost—is this not lamentable! From 'the ten' below, citing evidence. 'A junior seat coming forward' is because those of high monastic age and weighty virtue should not be toiled.
