《十誦》。彼明波離別申三問，初問過去佛法，次問未來，三問今佛，竝問幾時住世。佛一一別答如文。但今總示，故云乃至等。

In the Daśādhyāya-vinaya: it explains that Upāli separately presented three questions: first asking about the Dharma of past Buddhas, next asking about future Buddhas, and third asking about the present Buddha, all asking how long it would remain in the world. The Buddha answered each one separately as in the text. But here it is only indicated in general, hence it says “and so forth”.
