白四。三十八。通大小者，大如受具懺殘等，小即諫習近住等。情乖舛者，謂治罰滅諍等。諫法十三（僧殘中四練，九十中惡邪，諫𢷤沙彌二法，尼中隨𢷤尼，習近住，勸習近住，嗔捨三寶，發諍，近習居士子。），受法有二（具戒及尼式叉），治罰十四（七治竝七解），懺法五（僧殘有四，竝學悔。），滅諍四（憶念不癡罪處所及解）。

Jñapti-caturthā: thirty-eight. Those extending to both major and minor: major refers to receiving full ordination, repenting saṃghāvaśeṣa, etc.; minor refers to admonishing against living in close proximity, etc. "Sentiments being contrary" refers to disciplinary punishment, settlement of disputes, etc. Admonitions are thirteen (four trainings in saṃghāvaśeṣa, evil views in the ninety, the two procedures of admonishing an expelled novice, following an expelled nun among nuns, living in close proximity, encouraging living in close proximity, angrily relinquishing the Triratna, initiating dispute, associating closely with a householder's son). Conferrals are two (full ordination and a nun's śikṣamāṇā). Disciplinary punishments are fourteen (seven punishments and seven releases). Repentance procedures are five (saṃghāvaśeṣa has four, plus mānatva). Settlement of disputes are four (mindfulness, non-insanity, determination of offense location, and its resolution).
