第五。人非中。上明別眾，以界滿五，不開對首；又對首法不開受欲，必須集至，還依本位，方名如法。或非下，次簡非數。事非中。時非者，亦三日外。難不具者，非時得作，有難方開；本律增減，《五百問》一月是也。

The fifth. Under 'invalidity of persons': the above explains separating from the assembly; because when the boundary reaches five, face-to-face [procedures] are not permitted; moreover, face-to-face procedures do not allow the receiving of consent, and one must assemble until they arrive, returning to the original station, for it to be termed in accordance with the Dharma. From 'Or not' downward next distinguishes what is not the [proper] number. Under 'invalidity of matter': 'invalidity of time' is also beyond three days. 'Dangers not complete': it may be performed at improper times only when there is danger that makes it permissible; in our Vinaya it is increase and decrease, and in the Five Hundred Questions it is one month.
