正加中，示知改法。遮謹誦故。總前四部所列過相，隨犯牒入，故云準改。應下，出羯磨。白中，加二人者，以過同故。未有而有，謂初起也；已有不滅，謂更增也。第四句中作訶責者，單牒本也。更鬪諍等者，預示後罰；非今正加，義歸緣攝。

In the actual imposition, [the manual] demonstrates knowing how to modify the procedure, to prevent merely reciting it mechanically. It aggregates the marks of faults listed in the preceding four Vinayas and inserts them in accordance with what was violated; hence it says "to be modified accordingly." The text from "should" downwards sets forth the karmavācanā. In the motion, adding two people is because their faults are the same. "Arising where there was none" refers to initial emergence; "not perishing where there was [already] one" refers to further increase. In the fourth line, performing the reprimand simply enters the original [fault]. The phrase "further disputing, etc." gives advance warning of subsequent punishments; it is not what is currently being imposed, but in meaning falls under the preliminary conditions.
