In "Wearing and Using Away from Secular Ways," it first explains secular garments. *Zhe* is also a kind of trousers. *Pao* is also a kind of jacket; *qiu* refers to fur garments. *Wa* is the leg of a boot. "Copper..." onward explains secular vessels. Earthenware bowls conform in substance; if listed under improper ones, it is perhaps because their color or measurement does not conform. (Some manuscripts lack the character for earthenware.) *Kun* is pronounced with the fanqie *gu-kun*; *you* (glazed/oil) is read in the falling tone. "Together..." explains disobeying the teaching. "Virtuous..." cites proof. *Dang* is equivalent to "should." "Without offense" is based on destroying another's property, which originally falls under theft; since the mind was set on protecting the Dharma, an exception is made so that there is no offense.
