正判中，初文上二句即曉其本趣。體下謂識其宗旨。《業疏》云：如戒一受，願行須同。焉有受依假宗，隨行實教！神州一統，約受並誦《四分》之文；及論隨行，皆依《有部》行學；非唯體相乖各，亦乃緩急隨情等。（有將體既等語為聰師語，非也。）

Under "Direct adjudication," the first text's first two lines mean understanding their underlying orientation. From "substance" onward means recognizing their primary doctrine. The Karma Commentary says: "Just as when precepts are once received, resolution and practice must correspond. How could one receive [the precepts] relying on the nominal school, yet pursue subsequent practice according to the substantial teaching! Throughout the Divine Continent, as for receiving [the precepts] all recite the text of the Dharmaguptaka; yet when discussing subsequent practice, all follow the Sarvāstivāda for practice and study. Not only do the essence and marks conflict with each other, but also laxity and strictness are followed according to personal inclination," etc. (Some take the words from "the substance having already..." onward as the words of Master Cong; this is incorrect.)
