Under "The Measure of the Mind": as in various vinayas and treatises, they mostly speak of the superior grade. The previous citation from the Sarvāstivāda Vinaya Vibhāṣā merely spoke of "intensified." That treatise also divides the upper, middle, and lower minds within each of the fifty complete [ordinations], which makes nine grades. However, that is a general discussion of the strength or weakness of the mind, and it does not clearly show the characteristics of the three grades. Here, wishing to cause the receiver to know the limits and measure of the mind, it is explained in order according to the meaning of the text. Only this [account] is refined and detailed; none of the others describe it.
