廣辨中，初敘由。有得不得，如下自明。令下，顯意，上三句令能問知法。得不無昧，故云明斷。使下，令能所俱解。若下，示非。即舉中邊不足為例。

In the broad discrimination: First, he narrates the reason. That there are validity and invalidity will be explained below. Under 'Causing...', he reveals the intent: the upper three lines cause the questioning interrogator to know the Dharma. Since validity and invalidity are unclouded, he says 'clearly decide'. Under 'Enabling...', he causes both the interrogator and the questioned to understand. Under 'If...', he shows what is improper. That is, he adduces the deficiency in the central and peripheral regions as an example.
