《多論》中，初標定，得戒。論下，引文反難。意謂無既得戒，復何須制。答中三義，顯本制意別，非專受戒故。內德者，不出慈悲解脫慚愧也。

In the Sarvāstivāda Vinaya Vibhāṣā: First, it definitely establishes that one obtains the precepts. The text from 'The treatise' down cites the text to raise an objection in reverse, meaning: since one obtains the precepts even without them, why was it necessary to establish a prohibition? In the reply, three meanings show that the original intention of the prohibition was distinct, not exclusively for the reception of precepts. 'Internal virtues' do not go beyond compassion, liberation, shame, and remorse.
