In the seventh: Having the sitting cloth (niṣīdana) on the shoulder, according to the Gantong zhuan, was a previous regulation; now it must be on the arm. 'Universal invitation' means asking the Saṃgha whether it is permissible. The Mahīśāsaka-vinaya: 'Various accommodations according to circumstances' refers to instructing, comforting, and so forth. It says one should console him, saying: 'Do not be afraid, in a moment we will place you in an elevated and supreme place.' If you were not previously acquainted, you should not receive [him] when it is cloudy, foggy, or dark (all as cited above). When the instructing teacher teaches how to wear the robes, he secretly inspects him, and so forth, as cited here; it also says: 'You should ask: Among your three robes, which is the saṃghāṭī, which is the uttarāsaṅga, and which is the antarvāsa?' If he does not know, you should tell him: 'This is such-and-such,' and so on. It also says one should confer the three robes and bowl upon him. From 'or' downwards: although both were retained previously, the intent lies with the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya, so it is mentioned again.
