境心中，初明許可。但下，勸發，初二句指法體。上句標歎，下句示量。具足律儀，對五八十，故云深也。聖道基本，對世十善，故云上也。當下，正示發心。同前取解。

Under the object and the mind: first, granting permission is clarified. Below "dan" (only), exhorting the arousal [of the mind]: the first two phrases point to the precept-essence. The upper phrase marks and praises it; the lower phrase shows its measure. Complete disciplinary restraint stands in contrast to the five, eight, and ten [precepts], hence it is said to be profound. Being the foundation of the noble path stands in contrast to the worldly ten wholesome deeds, hence it is said to be supreme. Below "dang" (ought), it directly indicates the arousing of the mind. Understanding is grasped as before.
