三明教示，時節中，初科。隨竟記時者，此間不行影法，多用俗中年月日時；每一時中，分上中下，以定前後。

Under the third section, explaining instructions, on the time: the first section. "Recording the time immediately upon completion": here [in China] the shadow method is not practiced; mostly the worldly year, month, day, and double-hour are used, dividing each double-hour into early, middle, and late to determine seniority.
