《淨度》偽經，如序所列。舊記云：彼明重罪打三百，中罪打二百，下罪打一百，皆得福也。此下，斥非，初指偽。隋朝焚毀，古德不用，故云智者共非。縱下，縱破。可解。

The Jingdu [Sanmei Jing] is an apocryphal sūtra, as listed in the preface. An old record says: "That text explains that for a heavy offense one strikes three hundred times, for a middling offense two hundred times, and for a minor offense one hundred times, and all obtain merit." From "This" downward, rebuking the error, first pointing out that it is apocryphal. Burned and destroyed during the Sui dynasty, ancient worthies did not use it, hence it says "the wise jointly reject it." From "Even if" downward, granting the premise to refute it. This is easily understood.
