In explaining the three: first, it cites the Sarvāstivāda Vinaya Vibhāṣā to specifically indicate the faults of a secluded place. Because people cannot see, one is unrestrained and shameless, contemplating the act of lust; therefore, the place is designated by two faults. Next, it cites the Vinaya text to generally explain the three conditions; first, it explains the third. Pointing to "as before": smoke, dust, and darkness are called sight-seclusion; ordinary speech not being heard is called hearing-seclusion. Discussing on this basis, it is not necessarily covered or obstructed. From "If..." downward, it next explains the second and fourth. The Commentary says: "If blind or deaf respectively, they do not form complete witnesses, hence it is a duṣkṛta; furthermore, this is a sitting precept, so standing is light."
