八十九。（佛在舍衛，毘舍佉母送雨浴衣，佛令隨上座與不足者，六群大作故制。）前戒委明求用時節。律中長佛六搩手，即一丈二，廣二搩手半，則五尺。

[Pāyattika] 89. (The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. The mother of Viśākhā sent rain-bathing robes; the Buddha had them distributed sequentially from the senior monks to those who did not have enough; because the group of six made them too large, he laid down the prohibition.) The preceding precept thoroughly explained the proper time for seeking and using it. In the Vinaya, the length is six Buddha spans, that is, one zhang and two spans; the width is two and a half spans, that is, five feet.
