In the fifth [method], first the treatise is cited. "One day and night" adduces the fewer to imply the greater, hence it says "and so forth". In saying "in order to reveal, etc.", it means that if one concealed it during the one day and night, there is an offense of concealment, and one must establish probation according to the ground—that is, practice parivāsa; if one did not conceal it, there is no offense of concealment, and one only practices mānatva—that is, the six nights. From "ground" below, the text is taken up and explained, again in two parts; first is the direct explanation. "Name of the place" is because in practicing parivāsa, one is separately located in another room. "The four stages, etc." refers generally to all the stages. Mānatva (摩捺多) and mānatva (摩那埵) are transliterational variations of the Sanskrit sound. From "namely" below, the second part points it out. This may be confused with the second method. That one determined success or failure on the basis of whether there was concealment, whereas this one distinguishes presence or absence to clarify the application of the medicine, so they are not the same.
