五中，《善見》，初明有緣白停法。若下明晝捨夕行。明未出須白者，即當一日故。《十誦》中。六夜亦開，仍制日限；本宗白停，久近，皆得。《四分》中，初明白捨，前示開捨。若下，明白行。彼下，明受禮作使。上明同類，下明下眾。

In the fifth: the Samantapāsādikā first clarifies the method of announcing a suspension when there is a circumstance. From "if" below, it clarifies relinquishing by day and practicing by night. Clarifying that one must make announcement before dawn is because it then constitutes one day. In the Daśādhyāya-vinaya: the six nights are also permitted [to be suspended], yet it restricts the time limit; in our own school, announcing a suspension is permissible whether for a long or short period. In the Dharmaguptaka-vinaya: first, it clarifies announcing relinquishment, having shown earlier the permission to relinquish. From "if" below, it clarifies announcing practice. From "he" below, it clarifies receiving salutations and performing services: the above clarifies those of the same class, while below clarifies the junior assembly.
