Under the third condition, in narrating the intention, the first part clarifies that it is difficult to guard against. Because greed and defilement have accumulated deeply, one gives rise to thoughts upon encountering objects; coarse minds are unmindful—how could they recognize corrupt conditions? Without comprehending deluded feelings, one will ultimately be trapped in the net of sin. Even those of genuine virtue are not yet exempt, while ordinary sorts sink within it. All who share the same resolve must all the more exert their determination. "Only..." and below indicates the incurring of karma. "Not looking at whether the object is proper or improper": "object" refers to the aforesaid goods; the Triratna mutually using [property], where goods involve no private interest, is proper; taking it for oneself and putting it to evil use is improper. Both incur a grave offense; hence we know there is no distinction. "Therefore..." and below cites proof. Regarding it as being for the Triratna, it is called a good intention; yet in terms of being foolish about the teaching, it is still a thief's intention. "Principle..." and below generates what is cited later.
