In explaining the purificatory declaration: First, it explains using purified property to trade for goods. Robes, bowls, and the hundred-and-one requisites fall under receiving and maintaining. As for making a declaration for what is beyond these: according to the Karma Commentary, there is no need to make a declaration at all, because they already enter into purification. Below, from 'if' downward, it explains the case where one possesses illicit extra coin or precious substances, and before confessing, first uses them to trade for goods: afterwards, one merely repents the offense, and the goods do not need to be forfeited; according to the rules, unauthorized use incurs a duṣkṛta; the repentance is performed within the Saṃgha, bringing the clause to an end. As for 'what is beyond this must be declared': since it has already entered into purification, it must accord with the purificatory method.
